US President Day 2023: The details of what will open and what will be closed.

President Day 2023 is observed on Monday, February 20. The federal holiday is observed on the third Monday in February to honour America’s 45 presidents (Grover Cleveland served two nonconsecutive terms, so is considered the 22nd and 24th US President.)

While it typically falls around George Washington’s birthdate of February 22, the holiday is officially referred to as Washington’s Birthday.

While the majority of retail establishments will be open on Monday, many business offices and government organisations won’t be.

Below are the open and closing hours for Presidents Day in 2023.

The majority of banks will be closed on Presidents Day because it is a federally recognised bank holiday. Incidentally, TD Bank will be operating on Monday along with internet banking and ATMs at other institutions.

NASDAQ and the New York Stock Exchange will be closed.

USPS will not deliver business or residential mail on Monday due to the holiday. However UPS (UPS), FedEx (FDX) Ground, and FedEx (FDX) Home Delivery will continue to run normally.

Public Authorities

The DMV, libraries, courthouses, and city hall are just a few examples of non-essential federal, state, county, and local government offices that will be closed on Monday. The courts, both federal and state, will likewise be closed.

Although it’s best to double-check with nearby establishments, most shops and restaurants will be open on Monday. The majority of supermarkets as well as big box stores like Walmart, Target, and Costco will be open.
