Uber Operations Suspended in multiple cities in Pakistan including Karachi

(Infosette News) KARACHI: A well-known ride-hailing app The decision to stop operating in Karachi, Multan, Faisalabad, Peshawar, and Islamabad was made by Uber on Tuesday.

In a statement, Uber stated that its subsidiary brand Careem will continue to provide service in these five cities.

However, Lahore will still have access to the ride-hailing service.

In these five cities, “riders and driver partners may utilise the Careem app,” it was stated.

As new products are released, the ride-hailing company announced that the Uber app will remain accessible in Lahore to support earners during these challenging times.

“When we purchased Careem, it was always our conviction that the two firms could come together to complement each other’s capabilities and better serve the region through personalised experiences,” stated a company spokeswoman.

The spokesman stated that they were aware that this was a challenging time for the teams that had worked so hard over the previous few years to create this firm.

Uber expressed its gratitude for everyone’s contributions and stated that its top objective is to reduce any negative effects on its staff, drivers, passengers, and hero partners that use the Uber app while the cities are through this shift.
