The ‘false’ rumors about Prince William’s alleged affair

Prince William‘s rumored affair with old acquaintance Rose Hanbury has recently made headlines again after his brother Prince Harry suggested that the Buckingham Palace hushed up William’s scandals in their bid to protect him.

Rumors sparked back in 2019 linking the Prince of Wales to his lifelong the Marchioness of Cholmondeley, is the wife of David Philip Cholmondeley.

“They were happy to lie to protect my brother,” Harry told the Netflix show, Harry & Meghan.

“They were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.”

Rose was even labelled as the ‘rural rival’ to Kate Middleton, with whom they were close friends in the past. However, The Sun revealed that this is not the case anymore.

“It is well known that Kate and Rose have had a terrible falling out,” a source said.

“They used to be close but that is not the case any more.

William wants to play peacemaker so the two couples can remain friends, given they live so close to each other and share many mutual friends.

“But Kate has been clear that she doesn’t want to see them any more and wants William to phase them out, despite their social status.”

Fake news

However, The Daily Mail columnist Richard Kay, who is an old friend of Princess Diana, stressed back in 2019 that these rumors are just fake news.

“I am told the rumours of a falling out between these two attractive young women are false,” he wrote.

“I can also reveal both sides have considered legal action but, because none of the reports have been able to offer any evidence about what the so-called dispute is about, they have chosen to ignore it.

“In fact, gossip started doing the rounds at smart dinner parties late last year. Quite why is still a mystery, but there have been some malevolent undertones to it.”
