(Islamabad) According to Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed, a former interior minister, and leader of the AML, certain Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) members opposed the PML-Q leader’s bid for Punjab CM.
The former federal minister revealed that a core committee meeting covered PML participation. Q’s
Pervaiz Elahi’s candidacy as a joint candidate was contested by some PTI members. While applauding the former premier’s choice, PTI Chairman Imran Khan remarked that he had instructed the participants to vote for the PML-Q leader.
Salik Hussain and Moonis Elahi would compete against one another in the upcoming election, according to Sheikh Rasheed.
Additionally, he criticized media claims that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had refused to support Pervaiz Elahi, asserting that the Punjab Assembly Speaker is the PML-parliamentary Q’s leader.
The AML leader issued a warning that things would change if Imran Khan made the decision. He said, “The current rulers must flee, and their chartered flights are waiting.” Asif Ali Zardari, co-chairman of the PPP, was also criticized by him for what he claimed was the former president’s continued self-exposure.
The leader of the PML-Q, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, had already declared that he would not support Pervaiz Elahi, who was sponsored by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
