Sheikh Rasheed says,Elections might be in October 22

A former minister Sheikh Rasheed predicts that “the nation will soon hear of the date of elections, new Election Commission, and formation of an interim govt.”

ISLAMABAD: On Friday, the former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed asserted that a deal had been reached regarding the October general elections and that a declaration would soon be issued.

According to a tweet from the leader of the Awami Muslim League (AML), all JUI-F leaders besides Maulana Fazlur Rehman are opposed to the proposal.

The nation will “soon hear of the date of elections in October, a new Election Commission, and the formation of an interim government,” he added, making an indirect reference to PPP co-chairman Asif Zardari, who tested positive for COVID-19 and is undergoing isolation.

Markets will close down if a dollar becomes worth 250 rupees and the price of LPG rises by 10 rupees, he continued.

The political standing of the coalition’s members has “turned to ashes,” according to Sheikh Rasheed, and they are “neither able to face the public, nor escape, nor to return.”

“The fate of the people will be decided. Democracy has devolved into a joke, and government is now a show.

Hours prior to the PDM leaders’ announcement that they would serve out the remainder of their terms and reject the PTI demand to dissolve assemblies and hold early elections, the former federal minister made his statement.

On Thursday, PDM leaders gathered in Islamabad to discuss the nation’s political climate in the wake of the Supreme Court’s decision in the Punjab chief minister’s election case.

According to a resolution adopted by the PDM leaders, the SC’s recent decision has caused unrest, confusion, chaos, and a political crisis in the nation, which has led to an economic crisis.

The coalition government’s term would end, and the general elections would take place on schedule, according to the PDM meeting.

The resolution declared that elections would be held on schedule and that the mess left behind by the previous administration would be cleaned up over the course of the following five years because the wrongdoings of the Imran Khan government could not be undone in a year.
