The case against Gill for allegedly instigating a rebellion among the armed forces led to his arrest on August 9. He was transported to court in a wheelchair where he appeared to be audibly wheezing and was pleading with officials to give him his mask in a scene seen on television a day earlier.

The Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences had been ordered to transfer Gill there once more for another medical examination by the Islamabad district and sessions court.

Imran had gone there to find out the health of the jailed Gill but was reportedly stopped by the police before he could do so. The PTI leader paused to briefly chat with reporters after failing to meet Gill. He had declared that he will hold a demonstration in Islamabad on Saturday night in favor of the imprisoned party leader and invited supporters to go in huge numbers. He was wearing all black.

The gathering would also be organized at all of the party’s divisional headquarters across the nation, according to Imran. The PTI would not be permitted to stage its rally in the federal capital, according to the Islamabad administration, which also noted that Section 144 was in effect there. However, the PTI refused to follow the instructions, and party head Fawad Chaudhry declared that the gathering will go on as scheduled.

Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rashid stated earlier today at a press conference in Rawalpindi that Section 144, which was put in place in Islamabad to stop the rally, would be split up into “144 pieces” if Imran ordered it.

Shahbaz Gill is being treated at the PIMS hospital after his health deteriorated at the Adiala Jail. Following that, a medical board was constituted to determine Gill’s condition.
