Meghan Markle top of a Democracy Institute poll of potential candidates for the 2024 US Presidential election, even beating out current US Vice President Kamala Harris,
According to the outlet, nearly two-thirds of poll respondents said they would vote for a female candidate in the upcoming United States elections in 2024, and more than a quarter of 1,500 prospective Democratic voters named Meghan as their top choice.
The announcement comes months after current US President Joe Biden’s sister, Valerie Biden Owens, told Good Morning Britain that Meghan would “of course” make a good presidential candidate in the future.
“It’s wonderful to have women in politics; the more women we have, the better our democratic system will work,” she said in May. We welcome all women and invite her to join the Democratic Party.”
The poll results come just days after Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were named recipients of the Robert F. Kennedy Foundation’s Human Rights Award.
