Medicine prices in Pakistan, As Govt announces reduction 30pc cut in medicines

(Infosette News) ISLAMABAD: On Tuesday, Federal Govt announces a reduction in Medicine prices in Pakistan by 30 per cent.

The decision was made at a federal cabinet meeting in Islamabad presided over by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif.

The cabinet was informed that the PTI raised medicine prices by up to 700% during its tenure.

Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel announced in a statement that the cabinet also approved determining the prices of 54 new medicinal drugs.

He stated that these medications are used to treat cancer and other chronic diseases.

“The incumbent government is committed to providing relief to the people through effective measures,” he said, adding that ensuring the availability of medicines is the government’s top priority.
