The case of Madeleine McCann generated headlines across the world when the then three-year-old disappeared during a family holiday in Portugal in 2007.
Fast forward to the present day and Julia Faustyna, a Polish woman is claiming to be McCann going as far as using the Instagram handle @iammadeleinemcann, which has garnered a significant following.
However, following her rise to fame, Julia posted a series of disturbing messages on her account informing her followers about how older men are requesting to meet her in hotel rooms and how there is a doctored nude image of her circulating online.
“I have deleted my Facebook and my TikTok so that no one can hurt me and the only person who has not slept these days for me. If you do not like her or I stop following me, please,” Julia wrote in one post.
“Please stop asking me when the DNA test is or if I’ve already had it. I won’t tell anyone until Fia tells me. I’m naive but not stupid, okay?”
On the naked photo
Faustyna also elaborated on the naked picture circulating online, stating explicitly that it is fake.
“You who have posted a naked photo of me, I don’t care, it makes me stronger, you’re not going to sink me,” Faustyna wrote. “I’m not going to cry online or let you tag me, I’m not going online to any social network or read your ugly comments.”
Old men requesting to meet
Possibly the most disturbing message of all was the one where the Pole explained how she is receiving messages from older men asking her to meet them.
“I get emails from older men who want to meet me first, why do they want to do it in a hotel?” Faustyna wrote.
“Fia stepped up, took my case and rescued me, otherwise I don’t know it would have happened to me. I’m not posting anything crazy, sad or depressing in my stories because I’ve seen how much my case has moved since she has been at the forefront.”
The plan now is for one of Julia‘s parents to take a DNA test to ascertain if there even is a case to take forward.
