A proposal for this day initially surfaced in Paraguay in 1958. Although Joyce Hall’s Hallmark cards are where it is believed to have started in 1930. On this day, we honour the important role that close friends have in our lives and the ways in which they help to mould who we are.
Friendship bands are typically worn around the wrists of celebrants on Friendship Day. It is taken to mean that they will always be each other’s best friends (BFFs). Friends get together and spend a fantastic time together on this day. In addition to exchanging presents and flowers, they also send each other greetings.
