Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced the decision in a televised address.

He stated that the government decided on the new prices in light of the weather across the country and that in order to provide relief to the public, it has been decided that the levy charged on light diesel oil and kerosene oil will be absorbed by the government, i.e. the petroleum levy on the two products is being reduced despite an increase in international prices.

Other fuel prices will also be maintained in accordance with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s directives.
