The choice was taken at a meeting in London between PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The replacement of the finance minister was one of several political topics they discussed.
Miftah Ismail thanked Nawaz Sharif for giving him the opportunity to manage the ministry and offered to quit in accordance with the party’s decision during the meeting.
According to Miftah, he faithfully carried out his responsibilities over the past four months to the best of his ability while remaining a committed member of his party and the nation.
While the nation was dealing with a serious economic crisis, Nawaz Sharif welcomed the decision and commended Miftah’s efforts in doing his duties.
Miftah said in a tweet that he “verbally” resigned as finance minister after meeting with Shehbaz Sharif and Nawaz Sharif.

Upon arriving in Pakistan, Miftah stated that he will formally retire. He said it had been an honour to hold the position of finance minister twice.
Ishaq Dar, the head of the PML-N, will take over as finance minister in the wake of Miftah’s departure. Miftah will continue to serve in the government, although it’s not yet known what responsibilities will be assigned to him.
Ishaq Dar will travel back to Pakistan with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, it has been determined. He is expected to swear in on Tuesday, September 27 as finance minister, according to reports.
Nawaz Sharif suggested at the discussion that Dar go back to Pakistan with the prime minister.
Dar had also made travel arrangements with a foreign airline for Wednesday, September 28.
The prime minister will accompany him back, it has been determined.
Nawaz Sharif has conveyed his extreme discontent with Miftah Ismail’s economic policy.
He also expressed concern about the rising cost of goods, which has a negative impact on the base of support for the party and directly affects average people.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah had stated that senior PML-N leader Ishaq Dar would return to the nation in the upcoming week and help the government’s economic team even more.
It should be remembered that on October 18, Miftah Ismail’s six-month term as finance minister would come to an end.
He must resign from his position because he is still not eligible to serve in that capacity.
Following Dar’s escape from assets beyond means case on December 11, 2017, an accountability court suspended the permanent arrest warrant against him.
Dar was granted two weeks to turn himself into the court before the warrants were deferred until October 7.
Dar had been rumoured to be coming home after more than five years of self-exile, according to the decision.
