The brand-new song is the first single from Blanco’s upcoming album.
Benny Blanco is well known for collaborating with superstars in the pop music industry like Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Kesha, and others, but his most recent song might be his most impressive project to date. The lead single from his upcoming album, “Bad Decisions,” and the music video for it were released on Friday, August 5, at midnight by the 34-year-old super producer, who also happens to be BTS’s Jin, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook as well as Snoop Dogg.
In July, the guys started teasing the new song by releasing a series of hilarious videos in which Blanco makes an effort to blend in with BTS. In one, he directly requests to join the band during a video chat with Jin, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. The BTS members all respond in unison with “No,” but Jimin then offers a concession: “But we can make a song together.”
Blanco responds, “Let’s write the greatest song ever.” “Come on!”
Prior to its debut, the guys also released a brief trailer for the “Bad Decisions” music video, in which the “Eastside” artist claimed to be a second Jimin in an effort to fulfil his boy band fantasies. When the trailer cuts to Blanco posing as Jimin, the dramatic voiceover that had been saying “this year, they’re back” stumbles a little. “Jin, V, Jung Kook, Jimin, Snoop, Jimin? Poor Choices.
Though Snoop Dogg has been promising a collaboration with BTS for months, official promotions for the new song have only recently started. The rapper acknowledged on a podcast in January that BTS had contacted him in the hopes of collaborating, and in March he claimed their relationship was “official like a referee with a whistle.”
