Us & Taliban carry out Prisoner transfer according to the foreign minister of Taliban Amir Khan Muttaqi.

(Infosette News ) KABUL: The Taliban released a crucial ally in exchange for the release of an American navy veteran who had been held for more than two years, according to Afghanistan’s foreign minister.

Amir Khan Muttaqi, the foreign minister, said at a press conference in the city, “Mark Frerichs was turned over to the US today and Haji Bashar was handed over to us at Kabul airport.”

Mark Frerichs, who was abducted in 2020, was reportedly exchanged for Bashar Noorzai, a warlord and Taliban ally who has been imprisoned in the United States for 17 years for heroin smuggling, according to Afghanistan’s foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi.

At the airport in Kabul today, Haji Bashar and Mark Frerichs were both turned over to the US and to us, respectively, Muttaqi informed local media.

According to him, the trade took place “after extensive talks,” and Frerichs was given to a US delegation.

According to the US State Department, the former US Navy veteran was kidnapped while working as a civil engineer on construction projects in Afghanistan.

Noorzai “gave strong assistance including weapons” as the hardline organisation formed in the 1990s, according to government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, who spoke to AFP on Monday. However, Noorzai did not hold an official position within the Taliban.
