A heartbreaking image of an Afghan child following an earthquake has gone viral.

Last week, a photo of a three-year-old boy standing in front of a destroyed house in Afghanistan went viral on social media.

Afghan journalist Sayed Ziarmal Hashemi shared the image on Twitter, where it drew heartfelt reactions from users, many of whom donated to the cause.

Hashemi also organized a fundraiser to aid victims of the 5.9-magnitude earthquake, which killed over a thousand people.

The quake’s force was so strong that it could be felt 20 miles away in Pakistan.

The image has received over 82,000 retweets and 459,000 likes.

The Taliban thanked Iran, Pakistan, and India for their assistance.
