161 more Dengue cases were reported in Karachi.

Karachi has reported 161 more dengue cases in the past 24 hours. If necessary measures are not taken Dengue will become a pandemic in Pakistan. 

(Infosette News) Karachi: In the previous 24 hours, 161 new dengue cases have been reported in Karachi, the province capital, according to the Ministry of Health.

Six of the seven District Municipal Corporations, however, have still not received any funding for the use of fog machines.

From the total 161 instances reported in the past 24 hours, the Health Minister’s data shows that 36 were reported in District East, 21 in District Central, 32 in Korangi, 25 in District South, 8 in District Malir, 4 in District West, and 8 in District Keamari.

They also noted that, while there have been 3434 dengue cases reported before the year began, a total of 1227 cases have been reported in the metropolitan area since the beginning of September.

In Sindh, dengue caused the deaths of nine persons in 2022.

Six out of the seven DMCs have not received funding from the provincial government to run fogging equipment.

According to sources, the Sindh government has given a fund of Rs 20 million to DMC Malir alone.

They also noted that, while there have been 3434 dengue cases reported before the year began, a total of 1227 cases have been reported in the metropolitan area since the beginning of September.

The 33 fumigation vans in Karachi are reportedly not in use.
